Convention Competition and Lace Guild Assessments

The theme for the Convention Competition was ‘Sun,Sea and...’ and there were some interesting and amusing entries for this fun competition.
With Lace Guild Assessments only being held alternate years this is a showcase of the work being undertaken at various levels and for different types of lace. If you are thinking of doing an assessment yourself this is an opportunity to see what is involved and how others have tackled the various stages and complexities.
The next exhibition from July to late September 2012 will feature lace from the museum’s loan collections. We are fortunate in having a number of private collections which have been loaned to us on a long term basis. Whilst some items from these collections have been displayed at The Hollies over the years, many others have not.
- Monday to Thursday: 10am to 3pm by appointment only — please contact The Hollies to make arrangements.
- Friday: 10am to 3pm — no appointment needed but groups over five in number are asked to contact The Hollies in advance.
- First Saturday of February, May, August and November. Groups over five in number are asked to contact The Hollies in advance.
