Forthcoming Exhibitions at The Hollies
Golden Jubilee
2 May 2026 – 12 September 2026
This is an opportunity to look back and see what has happened in lacemaking over the past fifty years. We have been offered the loan of an exciting range of lace items to add to those already donated to the Museum collection over the years. By definition, all will be modern-made laces, although the design styles will vary from traditional through to avant-garde. Group entries, those entered by Young Lacemakers over the years, and the original work of Designers/Makers will be included alongside the reworking of traditional designs.
Fans and Handkerchiefs
19 September 2026 - 30 January 2027
The Museum has some beautiful fans (both antique and modern) which, along with some of our wonderful handkerchiefs, will make a splendid exhibition of many types of lace. Exhibits will range from a souvenir of Manchester to a rare piece of Valenciennes de Gand.
Hampshire Lacemakers
6 February 2027 – 24 April 2027
We aim for one of our exhibitions next year to feature lace made by members of a lace group (or groups). In 2027, we are looking forward to welcoming Hampshire Lacemakers,
including those from Hedge End Bobbin Lacemakers, for a display of their work.

Lace Identification on Saturdays
We are usually open on the first Saturdays of February, May, August and November, when a member of the Museum Committee is on hand to identify your lace etc. Please contact staff at The Hollies in advance to book an appointment, email: office@laceguild.org
