Golden Anniversary 2026
Demonstration AT WOOLSTHORPE MANOR IN MARCH
Over five days at the end of March Woolsthorpe Manor, NT, home of Sir Isaac Newton, celebrated the Golden Anniversary of The Lace Guild in style. Twenty five demonstrators from Stamford Lace and Needlecraft Group, St John's Bobbin Lace Group, Grantham, Colsterworth Crochet Group and Colsterworth Chapel Craft Club showed knitting, crochet, tatting and bobbin lace. Beforehand we had been busy making lace apples in all techniques to give to visitors who had a go at any style of lace. We had approximately five hundred visitors, with over one hundred apples given away. All demonstrators enjoyed themselves immensely especially being able to interact with the visitors, who were all very interested in what we were doing. Our thanks go to the staff and volunteers at Woolsthorpe Manor for making us so welcome, and for the display boards they created. We also thank all the demonstrators and creators of apples for their time and effort in making this a success. Aileen, Peter and friends.
