Lace Guild Sapphire Anniversary

Sapphire Anniversary.jpg

Simply Blue is the title of a new publication due out later this year, to celebrate The Lace Guild’s Sapphire Anniversary (45 years). It will be a mixture of patterns and short articles.

The publications team invite you to submit designs, worked either entirely or mainly in blue threads, in any lace technique, bobbin or non- bobbin. The pattern/pricking must fit onto A4 paper. Please also send us details of thread, tools needed, any working diagram and a photo of the lace.

A Gallery of inspiration will also be included in the book. We will welcome pictures of lace that fits the brief but does not have a pattern. Please let us know who made the lace.

Send your contributions by email to Rosemary Green at the email address below or by post c/o The Hollies. Time is short so by August 31 at the latest but sooner if possible.

Volunteer Appeal

We are currently seeking volunteers to help out at The Hollies! Come for the day and enter the wonderful world of lace! We need gallery attendants to help on the ground floor, while our regular staff are in our office space upstairs.

Volunteers have flexibility in terms of hours, but will need to commit to slots booked by visitors. During your day with us you will be able to use the library and access our archive between visits by the public. Why not make a day of it? To volunteer, please email office@laceguild.org with your name, age, availability and location and put ‘Volunteering’ in the subject line.
