The Lace Guild CIO Annual General Meeting 2023
at Warwick Conferences
Coventry CV4 7SH
We are delighted to be holding our AGM and exciting fringe events live after several years without. WE NEED OUR MEMBERS to support the event to ensure that it remains a viable option, continuing for many years to come.
The AGM will take place on Saturday 3rd June at The Scarman Building, Warwick Conferences (part of Warwick University) from 11am. This is a lovely venue, which is easily accessed by public transport. It is three miles from Coventry City centre and there are regular buses from the centre and railway station.
Doors will open at 10am for mingling, refreshments and shopping and will close at 4pm.
All the workshops, sessions, talks, shopping and the lacemaking area are included in the day delegate rate of £60 (£80 for non-members).
A self-service three course lunch is also included, along with unlimited tea, coffee and cake. There is ample free parking on site.
Please bring your pillows, crochet hooks, tatting shuttles and needles to join in the ‘Lace and Chat’ session in the afternoon.

Discount for Young Lacemakers
. Our future lies in our youngest lacemakers, and we’d like as many as possible to attend the event; we are pleased to be able to announce that the conference centre has generously agreed to a special rate for all under 18’s, who can now attend as full delegates for £30.00, which is a 50% discount.
Attending the AGM via Zoom
The AGM itself will be a hybrid event, so that those of you who can’t make it to Coventry will be able to join in via a Zoom link. Holding a hybrid event is an extremely costly undertaking, which we are holding as an experiment this year as we’d love to give our worldwide membership the chance to take part.
If you are a member who is unable to attend the AGM, but would like to show your support, we would be delighted to receive sponsorship from you towards the costs of the event and to make more possible. So much of what we do as an educational charity would not be possible without the generous donations we receive from our members, any gift you make small or large makes a difference.
How we may use your donation:
£30.00 would cover the delegate fee for an under 18 member to attend.
£150.00 covers the cost of the set-up of equipment to video one of our talks or drop-in events.
£600.00 pays for our Audio-visual set up for the AGM.
Talks, Trouble-Shooting Sessions and a Free Workshop
We have a varied and interesting program, which will include suppliers, talks, troubleshooting sessions and a free workshop. Further details will be available in the Spring edition of Lace, including how to book for the free workshop.
